Some fun things are happening. Today I heard that the song I wrote and recorded, "My Love" is #3 in the New Christian Music Euro Chart - it had been at #7 and holding...so it went up...it means more radio stations started playing it in Europe.

Another thing, I have been invited as a speaker to the national women's conference for the Foursquare Church in Brazil, Nov. 3 - 7 , what a great privilege..please keep me in your prayers

Labor Day Barbecue in Dearborn, MI

Today we had the privilege to share at a Barbecue planned by our friends in Dearborn, MI. It was a cold and cloudy day but that didn't stop over 150 people coming out. They were there from Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Palestine, S. Korea, and USA! As well as Syd from N. Ireland. The sun came out as we started to speak and everyone stayed and listened as we talked about Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven. We promised we would all pray for their nations at this time. Jesus is King over all the earth. It was wonderful to see everyone stay and listen as Syd & I spoke for 30 minutes about God's good plans for us all and how Jesus paid the price for our sins to be forgiven and ourplace to be secured in God's family in His Kingdom, the only Kingdom that is secure in these unsecure times.

PASTORS’ WIVES AND WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP RETREATS

As a young Pastor’s wife and mother of small children in the early 70’s (a middle class American missionary in an inner-city setting in England), I went through many identity crises. With a distinct call of God on my life to preach (and church practice restricting access to the pulpit due to my gender) I became the leader of Sunday School and worship. Frustrated and confused, I was both sometimes seen with the answer to congregational problems or as the cause of the troubles in the struggling young church! Church members criticized me because of my nationality, personality, gender, age, and whatever else made me different. I needed someone to talk to and pray with, but no one was there. My life seemed pulled in every direction and I urgently needed to know God’s plans and purposes for my life. My husband had Ministers meetings and a host of other resources available and I had none!
The needs of a Pastor’s wife and women in leadership are often neglected. Their tireless work of looking after their husband and children as well as working in the ministry, often with very little resourcing, can create stress in the marriage, conflict in the home, fatigue and disillusionment. Many women with valid calls and powerful gifting give up ministry and go into the secular workplace where they are resourced and their gifts are appreciated.

With this in mind, a team of Foursquare women in leadership have come together to pioneer retreats for women in ministry around the world. Already these retreats have taken us throughout Central and South America, South Africa, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
These special times away not only refresh these weary women, but offer the opportunity to develop new encouraging friendships, strengthening them to go back and face sometimes dangerous and always challenging situations.

ARGENTINA
August 10 - 12, 2011 Alva Contrerras ((FMI area missionary for South America), Melinda Scott (Assistant to the Director of Foursquare Missions) and myself, Liz Doyle (Foursquare Global Evangelist - Nations Light Ministries) met up at a peaceful Retreat Center outside the beautiful city of Buenos Aires, Argentina for our second annual 3 day South American Foursquare Pastors’ wives Retreat. Over the last 6 years Alva has invited Foursquare Pastors’ wives from all over Central and South America to come together regionally to be encouraged, strengthened and blessed. We have been privileged to serve women in leadership representing all countries in Central America and most of the South American countries in retreats based in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Venezuela, Columbia, Argentina and now Uruguay.

ENCOURAGING REPORTS

There were tremendous testimonies from our last visit just over a year ago. One woman came to the retreat discouraged and disillusioned, through the prophetic word she was told that she was on the verge of something big and she was not to give up! Within the next 2 weeks she was appointed as leader of the Foursquare women in Argentina! The Holy Spirit showed us that another lady had a ministry with children that would soon expand, she is now the director of Sunday Schools for the Foursquare denomination in Argentina.

This time, 88 women attended from Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil, and Chile. God moved in power. Women were ministered to, baptized in the Holy Spirit, delivered and released. There was great prophetic ministry.
This retreat offered excellent teaching and inspired preaching by experienced and seasoned women and men in ministry. We also had counsellors on hand for the women to talk and pray with. Alva has especially been used by the Lord to see broken marriages healed and deep wounds ministered to during times set apart for ministry. This year the Lord moved powerfully again in prophesy as He gave words of encouragement and confirmation. We are expecting great things in the coming months!

Melinda Scott led a beautiful time of foot washing. Tears flowed as younger women washed the feet of older women expressing appreciation for their sacrifice and faithfulness over the years. Older women washed the feet of younger women, praying for them with words of understanding, developing a bond that will connect them across national boundaries.

At dinner one night we were thrilled to hear the testimony of the young first generation of Foursquare native Paraguayans Pastors wives sharing their excitement of what the Lord is doing in that needy nation. It was wonderful to meet these young leaders who traveled 18 hours by bus to attend the retreat.

FULL MEAL DEAL

Not only Foursquare Pastors wives and leaders are blessed by these retreats. This time in Argentina we had guests from both the Congregational and Lutheran churches of Buenos Aires. The last morning as we sat together at breakfast, I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to ask if they were baptized in the Holy Spirit. They said no, but had been praying for it to happen (one lady had prayed for 10 years!) Each woman at the breakfast table shared their experience of the Holy Spirit, Lisa, a missionary from Chile, another young Pastors wife from Paraguay, and another from Chile. Praise God, within 15 minutes, at the breakfast table, they all received and began speaking in tongues! Pray for this experience to have a powerful impact on their churches.

RECONCILIATION

God opened us an incredible opportunity to pray for a Pastor and a Pastors wife whose husband was a veteran of the Falklands War. This was fought in 1982 between the United Kingdom and Argentina over the Falkland Islands. As my husband and I were pastoring in England at the time, I felt prompted to ask for forgiveness from the British people. They wept, and thanked me and invited us to come to their city in Argentina to visit the veterans there and pray for them too. God is in the business of reconciliation.

URUGUAY

After we completed this retreat we took a four hour ferry ride to the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo. Uruguay is the most secular country in South America. It is strongly controlled by Freemasonry. We were hosted by National leaders Rev. Sidney & Mary Da Silva. Under their leadership, Foursquare has now 22 churches in this nation.

30 Pastors wives and leaders joined us. Thy slept in the church that is being renovated from ruins. Again the Lord moved mightily.
New relationships between the Foursquare family in Uruguay and the USA are now being built through prayer and on Facebook. Many of the ladies at this retreat became believers as adults. Its exciting to see their enthusiasm and their heart for the evangelization of their country. They have given out hundreds of “The Voluntario” tracts from Foursquare Press that they picked up last year at the retreat in Argentina and now hope to travel further winning souls and training new converts to reach others.
Please uphold these women in prayer, the areas they are working in are notorious for witchcraft and idolatry. They are truly on the “front lines”. We pray for the precious blood of Jesus to cover these sisters and say to them, you are in our hearts and you are not alone!

On our return from UK we had a few days before we headed south to Nicaragua . Our cross cultural team included 28 from the USA and 31 from Mexico . Monica Cook of Rural Sunrise Ministries in England also joined us. We had a vigorous week of ministry to thousands of people of all ages and saw some great developments in the 11 cities we went to. Syd, Victor Benitez and James Seay headed up Pastors seminars in three towns, San Marcos , Tipitapa and Grenada . These last two seminars were preparation for Bike missions in these cities. 90 were expected in Tipitapa but 129 showed up! Grenada had 100.
   Both bike rides had a total attendance of up to 1600 riders, with police escorts. We happily stopped the afternoon traffic in the towns as we shouted ‘Cristo Vive!’ 2 rival gangs attended the meeting in Tipitapa and heard the Gospel.   The Police Lieutenant in Tipitapa was delighted to meet up with the Pastor who led her family to Christ 15 years earlier! Over 110 people came to Christ in both towns and met with the Pastors who prayed for them and made church connections.

You sponsored a record 124 new bikes, with one year warranties. They were presented to senior pastors from may denominations and fellowships. Each one was $100.00 and represented 2 months wages for these brothers and sisters. We praise God for all your generous giving! Thank you all for your prayers and may the Lord bless you mightily.

Liz and Angela Benitez led the team of speakers and contributors for the Pastors’ wives Retreat and 6 Releasing Daughters Conferences. 130 women attended the Retreat and were blessed with great teaching and inspirational messagesas well as “make-overs", craft classes and health tips.

“Last year I came to my first Retreat. I received a “make-over” and was inspired by the other Pastors’ wives to make more of my life and ministry. On the day I went home, I opened up an internet account, and signed up for a computer course. This past year I learned to drive and opened a preschool in our town. The 2 “Releasing Daughters” Events Liz spoke at saw 30 women give their lives to Christ and another 300 baptized in the Holy Spirit. At one point, thunder crashed when she preached that the gifts of the Spirit were for use in our evangelism, not toys to be
played with. It was as if God were shouting AMEN to that!

  Mike Nelsen and his team of 19 from our sending church Waterford Foursquare Michigan, saw hundreds make decisions for Christ. Under the Sandinista government in Nicaragua , they had freedom in the public schools and led 100’s to Christ throughout the week. On the second day they held a two hour assembly of 500 students and teachers! Joel Schweibert headed up the first Baseball clinic we had in Nicaragua and despite holdups in the first few days they culminated with a group of enthusiastic youngsters on the Saturday where 70 gathered for baseball and 60 came to Christ in the gathering afterwards!

I am still amazed at how God loves these people so much, how he arranged so much, convinced so many, and provided so much for this week to take place. Thanks for being instrumental in this. Summer Missions

“Love Ashford”, Kent England


It was great to be back in Ashford , Kent with our son, Josh and our daughter Rachel and our granddaughter Kyla. For the second year we were the guests of Pastor’s David and Joyce Lamb of Ashford Christian Fellowship, the church we founded in 1975. They have faithfully led the work there since 1999 and it has produced some great fruit, touching many nations with the Gospel. Some of those now helping had come to Christ in the Cultural Extravaganza of 2008! Our immediate cross cultural team consisted of Ellie from Michigan , Rachel and Kyla Martinez from North Carolina , Steve Mac from North Wales, Paul (Egyptian) and Venus (Iraqi) from Church on the Way, California The weather was again glorious – thank you Lord and all the prayer partners. After many meetings, public school ministry and 16 hours street evangelism, thousands heard the Gospel message;   over a hundred received Christ and more were filled with the Holy Spirit. Rachel and Josh both performed their songs along with an array of ethnic music and dance from many countries in Africa and Asia . Josh had a great time in the evening performing his music for many of his old friends.

The need of the hour in the Western Church is evangelism and we love to see churches mobilized to do just that.

Please pray with us for this house. We put in an offer for it to become a Training Base here in our village. A couple heard of our idea and volunteered to loan us the money to buy it. It is owned by the bank and we offered $80,000. Pray that by a miracle they accept the offer.

The earth is shaking, but the Lord and His people are to stand strong and firm! This is our chance to learn how to remain balanced and upright!

We have so much happening that we want to begin to share prayer requests and answers through short prayer "bulletins". We will be sending them out and will include links to our "blog" as well as an attachment for full reports and pictures.Those who support us financially always get an update with their receipt in the post as well as on line.

PRAYER BULLETIN

MASSACHUSETTS: We are looking forward to seeing everyone there April 19-29 and please check, at the end of this bulletin, to see where we will be speaking! We have dates available, please contact us if you would like us to speak at your meeting, big or small

HEAL OUR LAND - we have been working with the encouragement of composers Jimmy and Carol Owens adapting their dynamic, interactive prayer event "Heal Our Land" to address the challenges of today's British Church. During last month's visit to the UK, Liz met in London with a record company, producer and musical director to discuss recording the project. Please pray for a prompt decision regarding the way forward.

GRANTS- We have applied for 2 grants for big projects in the UK this year. We need prayer for favor and God's will to be done!

TELEVISION - Liz gave an important interview on Genesis AND Revelation TV in the UK. It will be aired the week of the 4th May. It is called "IN CONVERSATION" - We will both be interviewed May 4 by Sheri Ketner in LIMA, OH on WTLW channel 44 "Grace for Today" 10:00am www.wtlw.com (see the 2 programs we will be recording online after the program airs - follow local programming links to "Grace for Today".)

UK - In May, we will be attending the Churches Together in England Evangelism Consultation in London. Liz has been invited to lead worship at the Christian Booksellers Convention at the Christian Resources Exhibition at Sandown Racecourse 12-15th May with UK Evangelical Alliance Leader, Steve Clifford. Pray that these relationships will lead to fruitful partnerships for the Kingdom. We will also be hosting the Sharing Show again featuring a "Heal Our Land" stand. Please come up and see us.

LOVE ASHFORD - Following that, we will be in Ashford, Kent from the 17th -23rd for another 'LOVE ASHFORD' followed by another "Cultural Extravaganza". Two of our team members are unable to join us. Pray for loyal evangelists, Jack and Joyce Hayes. JOYCE has recently become ill with heart problems. Our son JOSH and daughter RACHEL will be joining us for Love Ashford and also Syd's Mum's 90th birthday celebrations in N. Ireland! Syd is pleased to report that she is much better than just a month ago.

NICARAGUA (13-21st June 2009) - So far we have 25 members on our team this year. A 7 man Bike Ride team under Syd. A 13 person Youth Team, under Mike Nelsen from Waterford Foursquare church, and this year we also have Joel Schweibert, who will be introducing a Baseball clinic for many enthusiastic young baseball fans there. Liz's hairdresser, Zola is joining us to offer hairdressing and beauty clinics. Long time friend, Monica Cook from Rural Sunrise ministries in the UK is joining us to train children's workers and Nancy Honeytree and Liz will be leading our annual pastor's wives retreat and 4 major Releasing Daughters Conferences in cities around the country.

GREAT NEWS!

Syd has a new tract published and has enclosed two free copies for you. It is called 'The Volunteer' and is a true story. It is a 'Thank you' to all our servicemen but in particular to those who may have been born outside our nations and have volunteered to serve alongside indigenous personnel. Syd says,"It is also in Spanish because I wanted to thank that Nicaraguan father who gave his son in Iraq. I am not someone who is shy about supporting our military. I also know that if God could give me salvation when I was in the military then He can save many more service personnel today. These need to get into their hands. TRAINING BASE - There is an opportunity to purchase a large house that is bank owned for a training base. This 12 room house with a 4 room carriage house and 2 car garage with a room that can seat 50 for lectures is available for $100,000. It is located on 1.3 acres in our village. Please pray for permission to be given to change the zoning on it as well as for finances for the purchase of it. We have been praying to open something like this for 3 years.

Thank you so much for all of your kind birthday greetings! Every birthday I like to reflect on all that the Lord has done for me in my life. In Romans 10 it says "whoever trusts in Christ will never be disappointed". In the 41 years I have followed Jesus, I have never been disappointed, sometimes I have been bewildered and hurt, but ALWAYS the Lord has come through and has turned what could have been a disappointment into a Divine Appointment. The key is to remain faithful to the end.

When I think of my friends, some of you are going on strong with the Lord, I am so proud of you! Others are struggling and some have turned their backs on Jesus. God loves you and so do I. I pray that you will come back to Jesus. He has a wonderful plan for you.

Yesterday, I found myself on the phone with some of my greatest heros of the faith, Jimmy and Carol Owens, Dr. Clifford and Monica Hill, Jean Darnall working together to see the UK come back to Jesus!I never thought I would be so privileged, but He keeps His eye on the faithful.

I am thankful for all my friends and my wonderful family. I thank the Lord that all of our family is following Christ, that is the greatest gift of all! Tonight Syd and I were talking about what life is all about. In the end, who are we? Are we defined by our jobs, our family, our homes, our nationality, our education..I wonder if all of this were taken away, who would we be? If everything was taken from us we are thankful that we have Jesus- our eternal identity!

Nations Light Ministries (Syd & Liz Doyle) www.nationslight.org and their teams traveled to Ashford, Kent England partnering with Ashford Christian Fellowship to share in a Cultural Extravaganza. Over 100 people made decisions for Christ.

They then traveled to Nicaragua where they provided 123 bikes for Senior Pastors of churches from many denominations. They rode the bikes through their towns and cities (Chinandega and Rivas), and finished with evangelistic outreaches that saw over 100 decisions for Christ. Releasing Daughters of the Last Days www.releasingdaughters.org sponsored a Pastors' wives Retreat for 120 Pastor's wives from many denominations.

where we conducted evangelistic outreaches and Pastors’ wives Retreats. In

we spoke at several churches and 2 Bible Colleges and Liz led a Pastors wives. We estimate 350 people gave their lives to Jesus throughout the year and many more were baptized in the Holy Spirit and accepted the challenge to live a lifestyle of evangelism.

Another year is nearly over, and what a year it has been. The nations are being shaken, but those of us who know Jesus belong to a Kingdom that can never be shaken who has a King who is all powerful and all loving! This Christmas time we remember that we serve a God who gave us His most precious gift that we might have eternal life.

Liz traveled to the UK to join 80 Political, Business and Church Leaders consulting together at the House of Lords on Thursday 11th December in response to the current Financial Crisis. The unity of the Holy Spirit was there as they met for over 2 hours consulting together in response to the current Financial Crisis.

Senior church leaders were from the Methodist, Baptist, United Reformed, Anglican, Assembly of God, Elim as well as Operation Mobilization, Ichthus, Pioneer, CARE, Evangelical Alliance and even the Protestant Truth Society. There were many more, from Nigerian and Afro Caribbean Churches, Indian and Korean. Other para church groups were represented, as well as prayer networks.

Liz was asked to be one of the speakers (several were invited to share for 3 - 5 minutes each on what they felt the Lord was saying). She chose to comment at the end of the meeting.

“I was privileged to bring a short word encouraging evangelism as well as prayer and shared a picture/dream I had. I saw crowds of people surging toward a precipice. A voice shouted “REPENT”. The believers in the crowd turned around toward the voice and saw it was Jesus. They linked arms and found that they were many! Just as police stop a surge at a sporting event, so the crowd was stopped and the believers saw that the people they were facing were a very different group from 20 years ago. They were from many nations, brought to the UK to meet Jesus. They also realized the people they were linked to were also from many nations. Jesus was asking us to minister together to these people. I said I believed the reason we had these problems in the west was because of our silence. How can they hear without a preacher and we needed to repent of our silence.”

The general consensus was that a declaration would be drawn up that stated something like this:

1) The current financial crisis is primarily the result of the pursuit of moral choices and values that are not based on those of the Kingdom of God; and we Christian leaders repent of our share of responsibility for the failure to communicate these values into the nation.

2) We are under judgment and as judgment begins in the House of God, so does repentance.

3) We are calling all churches in Britain to observe a season of prayer from New Year's Day to Easter 2009 for prayer and calling upon God for the transformation of the nation.

Please pray as we seek the Lord about how to practically implement this declaration. Also we need a follow up to bring about a program of repentance, prayer and commissioning.

By the way, on the same day in Westminster, our friend's church building that is in danger of being closed and sold by the Church of England to a business man to become a spa was spared for the time being as the planners in Westminster denied the businessman permission to change the use. Your prayers were again effective in the area! "The fervent effectual prayer of the righteous availeth much" (even more than we expected!)

We have been blessed by our wonderful prayer and financial supporters. You have kept us “on the field” and available to serve where it has been most needed. We are thankful for our continued health and strength to be able to travel and facilitate ministries around the world.

Dear Prayer Warriors!

Again your prayers gave us "air supremacy" and made way for our "ground troops" to share the love of Jesus with our Muslim friends in Dearborn. It was not as cold as expected, there had been light snow most of the day and we arrived at night to meet with about 200 others to go Caroling to our neighbors in the predominately Muslim area.

Our Nations Light team of 28 people from both Ohio and Michigan had the opportunity to pray at 15 homes. We called this "extreme prayer walking"!

We would knock the door, sing a carol and ask if the family would likeprayer for anything. We were able to pray at every home for God's blessing on the family, for happiness or the children's education. Then we left a gift bag with candy and testimonies in Arabic of Muslims meeting Christ and sang,' We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!'

Children in upstairs windows listened and identified with Rosalind our little Mexican girl, who looked just like them, and she gave them gift bags!

We were invited into Sandy's home. She had just moved from California and her Lebanese mother, in traditional dress, was visibly touched when Sue prayedfor her in the loss of her daughter. She then offered us some food from the well spread table in the front room.

After about two hours caroling, as we were preparing to return to the church, we met a man and his two sons who had come from their home to see what we were doing. We sang to him in the street and in broken English he explained that he had just been in America two months. He told us how his 12 year old son had been kidnapped by an Osama gang in Iraq. He had to get a lot of money to buy his son's release. He said the walls were splattered in blood. The son was very happy to be safe and in school in America! When asked what they would like a prayer of blessing for, the father said,..' but I am Muslim.' Syd responded,' ...but don't Muslims need blessing too?' He laughed and agreed and we prayed together.

We came back to join the other Carolers for refreshments and to report back. We knew that you our prayer partners had been supporting us. The doors where literally opened to us! We also discovered that one lady regularly 'prayer walked' the street we visited! When we shared our testimonies she was thrilled and praised the Lord.

Please continue to pray for the gifts we left, that the Holy Spirit will nurture the seeds of love and salvation we deposited and that these special guests, who have come to our nation will get to know Christ, the Savior of the World. '....He determined the ...exact places where they should live...so that men would seek Him and find him...'Acts 17:26,27.

Greg and Jan organized the latest ministry in Mexico for us, here is their story:

When Syd and Liz Doyle come to your church you never know what's going to happen.

We definitely didn't know how God was going to use them when they spoke at our church in Charlotte the spring of 2001. At the end of the service they casually mentioned an upcoming trip to Nicaragua to bring bicycles and invited anyone who wanted to come along. A sister in the church turned to my husband and told him she felt he needed to go, and wrote a check for his trip right on the spot.

That summer, my husband went along to Masatepe, Nicaragua and saw what God was doing there. We had always known we were called to missions, but not specifically where, and he felt like this may have been the place, but he waited on the Lord and didn't tell me.

The following April, 2002, I accompanied Liz to Nicaragua on an Impact Week trip, to speak to ladies all over Nicaragua. I could not stop thinking about the place, the people, the pastors, and the work of God there. When I came home, I waited a while for my "missions high" to come down and yet the country never left my heart and mind. That summer, we began talking about and praying about moving there to work with the Benitez family and help them out with their school.One year later, after having sold everything we owned, we embarked with our three young sons on the adventure of a lifetime!

June 15, 2003 was the start of our missions life and we have loved it ever since. We have had the opportunity to see the Doyles many times since, as they have travelled to Nicaragua and to Mexico, where we now live. For me, it has been so exciting to watch the seeds grow that have been sown by the Doyles during their visits.

What a privilege to see the long-lasting fruit. Seeing women released into their callings, growing in them, and blossoming as a result of the push they receive from a retreat, a women's conference, or service where Liz speaks.

Counseling Mexicans or Nicaraguans who want to be missionaries to the Muslim world as a result of Syd's teachings. There are many ways God has used them, and I'm so thankful to the Lord for the way He has used them in our lives - to introduce us to the people and the places where we have now formed our lives and ministries.

Today we shared in the Emmanuel Methodist Church in Blissfield, Michigan. 44 years ago this week, while a little girl attending a Methodist church in Union City, Michigan, I heard a "still small voice" saying that I would be a preacher someday. My reaction was..."but I am a girl!" Just this week I was ordained to preach the Gospel... an ordination... recognizes what you are already doing and the gift of God in you. Interesting that I found myself again in a Methodist Church in Michigan the Sunday after my ordination! That still small voice was right! It was the voice of God.

After 6 years of being licensed with Foursquare we were ordained Tues. evening in front of 800 people. Pastor Ken Authier, his wife Sandra and other Pastors from the Michigan District prayed for us. Our long time friends, Sharon Barth Schaubert and her daughter Christine, Nancy and Bob Rhea surprised us with their presence.

We were further blessed as we had lunch with the President of Foursquare, Pastor Jack Hayford where we discussed what is happening in the UK.

Just got off the radio here in Toledo, Ohio today speaking about the Obama /Muslim connection. Had a great time. Senator Obama is here in Toledo so it seemed timely. Hopefully some were listening.

We are on another radio program next week, we are hoping to have Dr. Clifford Hill with us by phone about the Muslim agenda and the part Senator Obama is playing either through naivety or by design.

Today I spoke about what is happening in the UK and the failure of the church to give a strong biblical lead resulting in the Islamists pushing their agenda of global takeover. I read a couple excerpts from a "Newsweek" article we picked up in the British Oct. 6 edition.

The article says that after his trip to Pakistan with his college room mate, Mohammed Hasan Chandoo, the now Senator Obama, became more acutely aware of the diversity and tensions within the Muslim world. "Both as a consequence of living in Indonesia and traveling in Pakistan... I was very clear about the history of Shia-Sunni antagonism".

Obama's confidence of his knowledge of the Muslim world is so great that he has proposed holding a global summit of Muslim leaders early in his presidency. "I think I can speak credibly to them about the fact that I respect their culture, that I understand their religion, that I have lived in a Muslim country, and as a consequence I know it is possible to reconcile Islam with modernity and respect for human rights and rejection of violence. I think I can speak with an added credibility."

I commented further on Obama's Muslim roots (as the son of a Muslim father, he was born a Muslim under Muslim law as it is universally understood), he says he has chosen to be a Christian, which is a crime in the eyes of Muslims, "ridda" or apostasy. Even today a law is being debated in the Iranian Parliament that would execute anyone who leaves the Muslim faith.

As an apostate, why does he think he would be listened to?

I didn't have time to raise further questions such as, "If he is an apostate, why would so many radical groups endorse him? Hamas, April 16, 2008 "He has a vision to change America"; Fidel Castro, "He is the most advanced candidate"; Mahmoud Ahmedinejah to Spain's El Pais newspaper, He didn't believe Obama would be elected, but that "He wouldn't have a problem meeting with him if he were." Louis Farrakhan: ""When Obama talks, the Messiah is absolutely speaking..."

I stressed the need for prayer and thoughtful consideration of who we are voting for in light of this information. I stressed the urgency of reaching the Muslims for Christ in our communities as God loves them and brought them here to introduce them to Jesus. I commented on our failure to reach these Muslim leaders with the Gospel, many of them trained in western universities, while they were here.

So we are trying to move with the Holy Spirit as He is opening doors!

We are blessed to have 3 beautiful Grandchildren. Today I called Lauren to ask how pre school was going and the first words to come out of her mouth were "How is Rachel doing?" How sweet and kind she is. The first thing uppermost in her mind was the well being of her aunt Rachel.

We are so proud of our children and their spouses, raising kind hearted children who love Jesus. Our prayer is that everyone reading this blog wil have the same experience in their families. If you have strayed from the path the Lord would have you walk on, get back on it. Bring joy to your parents and love to your children, most of all bring deep joy to Jesus who gave His life so we could have the greatest life of all.

We have had a great couple of weeks in Nashville, visiting our son Josh and his wife Jenny and their 2 children....plus we were invited to be backstage at the Grand Ole Opry as guests of our friend, George Hamiltion IV. What a great experience!

We had a great time at YWAM Atlanta with the Murton's and visited churches that are led by long standing friends.

Friends we met up with in the last few weeks:

Marti Wynn Daum - Now living in Alaska, Marti is a friend from Liz's High School years in Centerville, Ohio. Liz introduced her to Jesus and she went on to be a missionary in Jamaica, Peru and Alaska.

How exciting to turn around in church at Cross Point Vineyard, Centerville, and find Marti had dropped in to say "hi". It was the first time we had seen each other since 1972!

Marcia Hobday Brown - Best friends in elementary school in Union City, Michigan, Marcia is a teacher in Atlanta. Liz looked her address up and found we were preaching in a church only about 5 miles from her present home! Marcia and Liz hadn't seen each other for 30 years!

Gary & Marge Anthony - In 1985 the Anthony's visited us in England for 3 months. As a result of that visit their children were introduced to missions and all have been seriously engaged in missions around the world since. Pastor Mark Anthony, Pastor of Trinity Christian Fellowship, where we were preaching Wed. received his call to ministry in Ashford during that trip.

John & Cathy Cosenza/Kim & Chip Underwood - Friends since our days in Charlotte, it was great to meet up with them. Kim went with me to Nepal some years ago.

Jack & Stephanie Wolfe - Pastors of "My Epic Faith" we last met up 24 years ago when they came on mission to the UK. We shared in their service Sunday and were blessed by their incredible hospitality.

Nancy Honeytree's family including Mary Henigbaum and all the rest!- We last saw the family 8 years ago. The whole family came together for a fabulous concert last night...reminicent of their visit to England decades ago!

Now we are in Charlotte waiting for Rachel & Raul's baby. Please keep her in prayer!

We've had a wonderful time teaching a DTS at YWAM Atlanta with leaders Jeff and Sue Murton from ACF in England. For some of you that may not be familiar with YWAM, it stands for "Youth With A Mission", an interdenominational mission group started by Loren Cunningham 40 years ago.

Twenty one young people are on a mission across the USA having lectures and involved in street mission.
